“Sometimes, I do not want to GIVE THANKS: The loss of health, lack of income, or the death of a loved one. It is in these times more important than ever to GIVE THANKS. No, not some flimsy thank you, but a HEARTY THANK YOU.
Today let me be careful as I give thanks, not because I lack, rather because I am blessed beyond measure! If I only make a list, what am I saying of the things, and people whom I do not put on the list. Am I telling God I do not GIVE THANKS in my lack?
In The Little Prince, a french literary classic, the fox is saying goodbye to the little prince, and as he leaves he says, “And now here’s my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” “What is essential is invisible to the eye,” the little prince repeats, so that he will be sure to remember.
So today, I want to be thankful from the heart!”
