Texas Free Will Baptists are proud to have several students participating in E-Team and/or Truth & Peace. We applaud their desire to serve the Lord and grow in their faith, but we also know the financial cost is great. The Texas Challenge is happy to spotlight each student over the next few days. Today our spotlight is on Leah Wright (Clearview, McKinney) who is going to Chicago and Truth & Peace.
Greetings from McKinney Texas! My name is Leah Wright, I am the daughter of Randall and Collette Wright who are church planters with Free Will Baptist North American Ministries. My family is planting a church in McKinney, Texas. I hope this letter finds you and your families doing well. Things are going very well for our family here in McKinney. I am excited and looking forward to getting out of school this Summer and finishing up my Sophomore year. However, the thing I am the most excited about this Summer is the opportunity I have to be a part of ETEAM-Chicago and the Truth and Peace Student Leadership Conference! I consider this a great honor and a great opportunity!
ETEAM- Chicago– During the month of June, I will be traveling to Nashville, TN where I will spend a week on the campus of Welch College. Here I will receive mission training and engage in team-building exercises in preparation for our mission work in Chicago. Once in Chicago, we will be partnering with a local church to help them reach their community. We will do this through providing a Vacation Bible School for the community, working at the church, and helping meet needs of the unchurched in the community.
Truth and Peace-During the month of July, I will head to Moore, Ok, to spend ten days on the campus of Randall University. Here I will have the opportunity to experience even more teaching, training, and team-building exercises. I will be challenged in learning how my unique blend of personality, spiritual gifting, and abilities can be used to enhance my leadership and service when I return home. Then I will spend my last week at the National Youth Conference, which this year is in Little Rock, AR. The students of Truth and Peace will be the labor force for the two thousand plus attendees of the National Youth Conference, where our training will be put to test in a real-life laboratory of servant leadership.
I am writing to ask you too prayerfully consider making a financial investment this year to help me as I try to walk through the ministry “doors” that God has opened for me! I need to raise $3400.00 total to cover the cost of my summer ministry opportunities. My family and I are already personally working and saving to raise as much of this as we can.
