Bright Light Searches for Pastor

Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church is searching for its next pastor. The members have selected a pastor search team and have enlisted the assistance of John Collier, General Director for Texas Free Will Baptists. Bright Light is a historic church among our Texas churches. It was the first Free Will Baptist church founded in central Texas and has served its community faithfully since 1886. When the National Association of Free Will Baptists was founded in 1935 in Nashville, Tennessee, Bright Light sent a delegate to that meeting.

Bright Light is a small but active congregation that is seeking a bi-vocational pastor to faithfully shepherd them, proclaim God’s Word, lead in reaching their community, and help them move into the next chapter of ministry.

Any candidate considered for the role of pastor at Bright Light must:

  • Be a follower of Jesus Christ whose primary focus is his walk with God.
  • Be able to articulate a clear call to local church ministry.
  • Meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
  • Be ordained or ordainable in the Central Texas District Association of Free Will Baptists.
  • Agree with Free Will Baptist doctrine as outlined in the Treatise of the Faith and Practices of the National Association of Free Will Baptists, Inc., in its latest updated edition, currently 2026.
