FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Collin Creek Church of Plano, Texas, received the Evangelism Impact Award at the inaugural Church Answers Awards, held October 5, 2026, at Liberty Hall in Franklin, Tennessee. Lead Pastor Mike Morrison accepted the award on behalf of the congregation.
The award recognizes intentional, measurable, and reproducible evangelistic engagement. Collin Creek was among twelve churches and ministry leaders from across the country honored with awards in various categories, including five Free Will Baptist recipients.
The recognition highlights the church’s efforts to reach its increasingly diverse community. After studying local demographics through a Know Your Community report and discovering significant populations of immigrants and non-English speakers, church leaders began exploring ways to remove cultural and language barriers to the gospel.
These efforts included introducing bilingual worship materials and becoming an early adopter of AI-powered real-time translation during worship services, helping people from multiple language groups participate more fully in congregational life.
Since implementing these initiatives, Collin Creek Church has experienced modest but steady growth. Its congregation now includes people representing three continents and six nations.
“We’ve been willing to think outside the box, take some risks, and ask a simple question: What barriers can we remove so more of our neighbors can hear and respond to the life-changing good news of Jesus?” Morrison said.
“Rather than expecting our changing community to adapt to us, we’ve worked to adapt our methods without compromising the unchanging message of Jesus Christ. We believe the Great Commission is worth taking risks for.”

Free Will Baptist honorees gather with Dr. Thom Rainer and Sam Rainer of Church Answers and Dr. Eddie Moody, Executive Secretary of the National Association of Free Will Baptists, at the inaugural Church Answers Awards in Franklin, Tennessee, October 5, 2026.
Dr. Eddie Moody, executive secretary of the National Association of Free Will Baptists, celebrated the honorees, saying, “These honorees represent so many churches and pastors faithfully serving the Lord and doing great work for His kingdom.”
For Morrison, the recognition affirms Collin Creek Church’s commitment to reaching across cultural barriers and becoming a more diverse reflection of the community God has planted them in to reach.
“The real celebration is every person who discovers that there is a place for them in the family of God and encounters the transforming grace of Jesus Christ,” he said.
