Support the Refresh Counseling Program

Long ago, Jesus said, “The laborer is worthy of his hire.” We like to say, “The laborer is worthy of help.” Jesus informed His followers that it was important to provide for those who ministered to them, and Paul reiterated that principle. As we celebrate our pastors during the month of October, may we look for ways to support them in the often-stressful work they do. Though extremely rewarding, pastoring can be difficult, which has led to a national crisis in the number of men answering the call to the ministry. Free Will Baptists are not immune to this crisis.

One way we can support pastors is through the Refresh Counseling Program. Since the 2022 National Convention, the NAFWB has conducted more than 2,400 sessions with pastors, their wives, and in rare cases their children. In a recent survey of current participants from over 25 states, 100% indicated the program has been helpful, and 37% reported learning about the program from another pastor. Further, many indicated that were it not for the program, they probably would not be in the ministry today. (See more Lessons from the NAFWB Counseling Program.)

Will you support the Refresh Counseling Program? As of September 8, 2025, $188,853.75 had been spent on the program. On average, it costs $1,000 from start to finish per pastor. Please help us continue this program by giving at nafwb.org/refreshcounseling or consider sponsoring a pastor.

The laborer is worthy.
