Book Recommendation Pertaining To Apologetics & The Resurrection

The central event in all of history that makes the most impact for eternity: the resurrection. It makes sense that there will be questions, doubts, and platforms dedicated to debunking it. It makes even more sense that the church should be producing massive amounts of teaching and helpful aids for the church and Christians in a postmodern world that seems to think we’ve moved beyond discussion like this.

Gary Habermas has given the church world a masterpiece that deals with this most important issue. His book, On The Resurrection: Vol. 1 Evidences, is thorough and well researched. I have listened to Gary for years. I have quoted him often and I trust him, with regards to his knowledge and teaching on the resurrection, even more.

This first volume of four is over one thousand pages and is window into this apologist and theologians mind pertaining to his forty plus year endeavor to understand more of the resurrection. He discusses about any area that you can imagine to sharpen our skills. He looks at the historical research, how to assess historical research and researchers, the minimal facts about Jesus and the resurrection, the gospel resurrection date, and more.

I wish I could tell you that I have read all of this book. I have not…yet. But it is fantastic and certainly a much needed tool for every pastor, theologian, or anyone wanting stretch their understanding more on this subject. There should never be a limit to our understanding and we should never shy away from such a great work. As their long as there is breath in your lungs (believer) and there are people on this planet who need Jesus, we should push ourselves to correctly handle the truth (2 Timothy 2:15) and to be prepared to share our faith with anyone (1 Peter 3:15)!
