Greetings! My name is Justin Feight. My family and I are heading to North Dakota to plant a Free Will Baptist Church. Currently, there are no Free Will Baptist Churches in North Dakota and from current research, there has never been one. Around ten years ago, I watched North Dakota State University win a championship on ESPN and became a fan. In 2019, after looking through the FWB National Yearbook, my wife and I noticed North Dakota did not have a Free Will Baptist Church. My wife would make jokes about going to Fargo to start a church so I could “have my NDSU Bison and North Dakota would have a Free Will Baptist Church.”

Fast forward a few years to 2021, while attending the National Convention in Memphis, Tennessee, we saw a map that was shown in the exhibit hall, which showed the number of FWB churches in each state. Seeing the number of churches in Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, and others, and it bothered us to see nothing shown in North Dakota. To put it briefly, it was at this moment that I was convicted about not surrendering to the call to plant in North Dakota. We left Memphis knowing this is what God wanted us to do and reached out to North American Ministries about this work. We were commissioned by NAM in 2022.

North Dakota is home to approximately 755,000 people. The city God has called us to is Jamestown, North Dakota, and is the ninth largest city in the state. It is home to around 16,000 people, not including the Native American Reservation about an hour and a half north. There is a great need in this city. Out of the 16,000 people, 75% are unchurched, making that 12,000 people who do not attend church at all. The field is truly white and ready for harvest in Jamestown, as well as North Dakota. It is my vision to see God use Embark FWB to reach not only Jamestown but to be the launching point for our denomination in the state of North Dakota.

We are currently in the fundraising stages of our journey and expect to move to Jamestown in June of 2024. We desire your prayers as we embark on this endeavor.
