Bright Light Revival and Homecoming

by Gabe Montez

The Bright Light Revival and Homecoming, held October 17th through the 19th, was a time of spiritual renewal, heartfelt worship, and deep reflection for our church family. Bright Light entered the weekend with a prayerful hope for a revival of the spirit, a refreshing of the soul, and a renewed willingness to sacrifice ourselves fully for Christ. As Romans 12:1 reminds us, “present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Throughout the services, God’s presence was felt as hearts were stirred and lives were challenged to draw nearer to Him.

One of the highlights of the weekend was hearing from a young missionary to the Ivory Coast, a Texas A&M graduate who inspired us with her testimony of obedience and faith. Her message reminded us of Jesus’ call in Matthew 28:19 to “go and make disciples of all nations.” We also took a moment for reflection and communion, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and our unity as His body. The weekend included a powerful prayer led by John Collier and a time of fellowship that strengthened the bonds within our church family as well as outside it. Acts 2:42, “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

We were blessed to hear from Russell Hylton, who shared about the spiritual and physical needs in Hawaii and his heart to serve Christ there. His message reminded us that revival is not confined to one place but wherever willing hearts obey. To wrap up the Revival weekend, we enjoyed a wonderful Hawaiian lunch together, rejoicing in God’s goodness and the unity of His people. We pray that the Bright Light Revival and Homecoming were a time of renewal and rededication to the call of Christ, who continues to breathe new life into His church.
